A core value of Alabaster has always been education - we love teaching people about coffee!
We have spent the better part of 2015 finishing our Training Lab at the location of our former coffee bar at 410 Pine Street, adjoining our roasting space & coffee bar. In January 2016 we will began offering monthly training and education classes both for our wholesale partners and the general public. Classes will include Intro to Espresso, Advanced Espresso, Fundamentals of Brewing, Cupping, Seed to Cup (Sourcing), and Milk + Latte Art.
Our current education series class is Manual Brewing 101. This class answers the question, "How do I make amazing coffee at home?".
Join us in our training lab as we explore the many different variables that impact a cup of coffee - water, time, temperature, grind, coffee, brewing method - to shed light on what happens during brewing. We'll also demonstrate how different brewing methods impact the taste of coffee, and some basics of coffee tasting. You'll even get a bag of coffee to take home!
This is a hands on class, so class size is limited to 5 participants per class. Come learn how to make your home coffee absolutely amazing! No experience is necessary.
Class is approx. 90min long + Q&A and class size is limited to 5 people per class.
